Choice

Hosea 9:8 The prophet is a watchman over Ephraim on behalf of God,
yet traps are laid for him along all of his paths;
animosity rages against him in the land of his God.
 Choice

Among you now my brethren

I stand alone and watch.

Behind me rises One

Who will gently set the tune?

Words of Life, words of death

are mixed into a batch

and as the song fades away

all will appear in ruins.

Resurrection only comes

at a time when all is down.

When all seems lost, once and for all

in a colorless surrounding.

It is right then, in the here and now,

that Life itself abounds,

if One reaches to our helplessness

with a gentle soft compounding.

It is not a blazing light I see,

I feel just a gentle touch.

It is not raging words I hear,

but just a small still voice.

I am not judged right here and then,

just reminded that it is near

and that I can find the rest I need

if I let Him be my choice.
