Childhood

Location

Childhood swing

Dancing, in the warm summer wind

Creaking

Like my grandfather’s backyard door.

Childhood toy

Sitting, at the dusty corner

Smiling

Like it sees no crying children.

Childhood sweets

Sliding, down the throat of my little sister

Tumbling

Like they face no misery ahead.

Childhood dreams

Flying, away from my grasp, lost

in the mist of realism

Missing

Like the children never found their way home.

Childhood me

Growing, as the years gone by

Dancing, smiling, tumbling, missing

Running

Like nothing could hold me back.
