Chemical Reaction

Eternal love, that is my dream.

But I’m afraid, have you ever been in love?
Love makes you vulnerable.
It opens your heart, it means someone can get inside you and mess you up.
All the defenses you’ve built,
you’re ready.
You won’t fall in love.

But then that one dumb person wanders into your fortified life,
and you can’t help but give them a piece of you.
Those defenses built, gone.
Those neglected feelings began as a seed which sprouted and took root.
All it took was a smile,
Nothing will be the same.

Suddenly your life isn’t yours,
But in the hands of the one you love.
Love takes hostages.
I hate love.
But a man can dream, can’t he?
Eternal love, that is my dream.
