She ran through the forest,
Heart a beating tempo
Tripping over the rot,
Breath a gasping crescendo

You were her pursuit
Chasing her with ease
Like a phantom, quietly,
You whispered through the trees

Never looking back
Not wanting to see those eyes
The eyes that led to your soul
One soul cold as ice

You cause so much pain
Though not at first it seemed
You led her to that forest
Pushed her in. Condemned

Now she's running through the forest
Running away from you,
You who wants to catch her
To trap her once again

I like the rhythym that you keep throughout your poem. It maintains a tempo that feels like running, through the short and choppy lines.
