To Change Oneself

How does one change the world,

if one cannot change oneself?

How does one fix the climate,

if they cannot stop driving gas cars,

if they cannot shorten their showers,

if one believes they are not enough?

How does one fix the climate,

if one thinks one person is not enough?

How does one feed the hungry,

if they continue to throw out food,

if they pass the homeless at the corner,

if one believes that they are not enough?

How does one feed the hungry,

if one thinks one person is not enough?

How does one fight for freedom,

if they give up their information,

if they let their rights be forfeit,

if one believes that they are not enough?

How does one fight for freedom,

if one thinks one person is not enough?

The way to fix the climate,

the way to feed the hungry,

the way to fight for freedom,

is to change the voice in oneself

that tells them

that one person is not enough.
