Change

She danced through the air
Swirling with her sisters.
The trees were their sturdy parents,
the sky their domain.
Colors of autumn and healthy greens held up by their wild cousin.

But the sun dimmed and the air grew cold.
They knew He was coming.
He who found joy in leaving them lifeless forms of Earth.
Sucking them dry of all power and love.
Destroying their happy-go-lucky nature.
Killing the tall trees governing their lives.

Serena felt him grab hold of her favorite "parent"
an elder oak in the last decades of life.
She felt a raging anger at the unfairness.
She decided today would be the day this stopped,
she would be the one to stop it.

Her soul grew hot and fiery.
Her leafy exterior changed from that a gentle, loving being
to hateful,
Powerful

He never knew what hit him.
