Change

I live in America, specifically in the South. We are the land of the free and the home of the brave. It is a place where no one should be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. A place where everyone here was supposedly born with equal rights and is treated equally. I hope to see that become the truth in the future. Almost everyday I face prejudice whether subtle or not so subtle, it is prevalent. Due to the fact that I am not ignorant, my peers are constantly telling me I "act white," and I'm "only black on the outside." I hope in the near future a person's level of intelligence and their character wont be assumed based off their skin color. I hope that we can encounter a random person and have a COMPLETELY open mind. If everyone could be accepted for who they are I feel like life would be easier and where I live would be a much better place, not to say I do not like where I live. I believe if no one was judged a large amount of conflict would instantly disappear. There would be no gay marriage arguments, no race riots, no racial tension, no supremacy groups and a lot more love.
