Center
“Everything means Nothing, and Nothing means Everything
Let us take a look, my dear old chummy chum
I stared at the face of our primordial ancestors with my own eye”
“Let me guess, this is how you lost your left eye?
A small look gave you a black star forever.
Was it worth it?”
“Yes because I learned something, don’t look directly at the sun, son.
But I learned something else, the inhuman view is beautiful and without meaning
We could all die, and we will, and the universe will be naught the least knowledgable of it”
“So? We already knew this for centuries actually.
I see the beauty of it, and it is kind of sad to think about.
The universe is escaping us, expanding, and we remain no closer breaching the gap”
“Yes, and we are small, and soon to die.
But from my eye I see it differently from despair.
I see myself as the center, and the center as me.”
“That is absurd, there is no center, not even the big bang could be called a center
And even if you are the center then it would be only through absurd coincidence
What makes you think you are so special?”
“No body is special, not me or you, not the savant, or the common joe, different but not special
NO, I mean that if there is no center, then why can’t every picometer be the center of it all
All of my life, the good, the bad, the virtue, and the vice is at the center, I know who I am”
“That’s meaningless, I could say that about anybody, or anything!
Doesn’t that devalue itself?
Nothing means nothing”
“Everything means Nothing, and Nothing means Everything
When everything is at the center, every moment is the most important moment
Your virtue is life, and it may mean nothing, it also means everything, a life affirming search.
The meaninglessness of life, may refute the futility of it”
