Catching stars and Singing Sirens
Catch the stars my dear,
I’m only wind, unable to save you.
Floating in air, no desire to catch you.
Slurring my words
Your essence has caught me,
The lightning has struck me, again.
A match has been lit,
There goes my mind,
Lost in translation, frozen in time.
(All over again.)
This silver lining isn’t as lovely as it seems.
We have been drifting,
For what seems like forever.
Into a sea of wilting roses,
And paper, origami dreams.
Maybe in my dreams.
So,
Empty ships of heartbroken souls,
Ghosts of my sanity,
Find your way to me.
I will be your lighthouse,
Courier of your stolen dreams.
If land has no place for me,
Send waves of sirens,
Carry me out to sea.
Lovers,
Tonight as we drift off to sleep,
Gold dust will surround me,
Winged beings of magic, and ironic addiction
Will swoop down,
To lift you away.
(For one more night)
Specks of acidic imagination,
Spinning my head,
A disastrous attraction.
(Oh,)
Your lies will invade us, (invasion?)
A pawn in another distraction.
I count the stars, until the moment you collapse
From hallucination.
Symbolic silhouettes of fading memories.
These daffodil clone creations of you,
Will be the death of me.
(Why even in my dreams?)
So,
Empty ships of brokenhearted souls,
Find your way to me.
I will be your lighthouse,
Courier of your stolen dreams.
If limbo has a place for me,
Send waves of sirens,
Carry me out to sea.
