Carnal

Colossians 2:23          New English Translation

23 Even though they have the appearance of wisdom with their self-imposed worship and humility achieved by an unsparing treatment of the body—a wisdom with no true value—they in reality result in fleshly indulgence.

Carnal

What means to be carnal? The “will” not yielding to God?

Are natural tendencies only linked to self-fulfillment?

Desires and ambitions seem always linked to what should not

Only hanging on to one’s ideas and calling that enlightenment?

The center of carnality and its corrupt foundation

Always self in the center of every thought and deed

Self-delight and self-glory and oft self-exultation

Self-love or self-pity, self-importance, and self-speed

Do our aspirations escape the brand of self?

If they’re not self-pleasing, surely self-glorifying?

Pride springs up from the desire to obtain a place for self

It works through emotion and hardly wants the dying
