Carl Knox
Carl Knox
Was a man as true as true can be
Honest and brave though made of fear
This man will always come to save the day.
Tall and slim with a really big hat
That covered his face when he sat.
Tight blue jeans and a black overcoat
And boots that had pointy toes.
Plaid t - shirts and three holsters
Constantly sitting with his legs propped up
And chewing on a piece of straw.
People feared this strange man
Avoiding him time and time again
But when robbers come to threaten them
Carl Knox, will be there
With the flick of a finger there they lay
Shot down by Carl Knox's amazing speed
And with claim and ease he leaves.
Carl Knox
Was a man as true as true can be
Honest and brave though made of fear
This man will always come to save the day.
Now a days people always ask
What happened to Carl Knox?
You see, taking a stand
Made him a wanted man
Always on the run.
He never knew what was waiting
Till he tasted the bullet for himself.
For many years he protected us
From scum we hardly knew
But we could hardly argue
When this frightening man saved us.
He would ride into the canyons, hiding there
But no one knew why. He just turned up one day
As dead as any robber he's killed before.
Carl Knox
Was a man as true as true can be
Honest and brave though made of fear
This man Always came to save the day.
He wasn't the only body in that canyon
There were plenty unknown to us
All had one shot in their head
And just seeing the scene made of everything said
"Call Knox must have lead these men
To protect us and spare us."
He knew he wasn't leaving there alive.
Surprisingly enough, we buried him
Giving him a funeral
And praying that the Lord take him kindly
And that we would continue to follow him blindly
Roses were placed with his holsters
As many people cried
And this man we once feared became our town's pride.
Carl Knox
Was a man as true as true can be
Honest and brave though made of fear
This man was always there to save the day.
