Can You See Her?

She was there

Siting in the corner while I played with my toy trucks, whispering this is not you just stop.

She was there

On the first day of middle school. Reaching out her hand begging me to take it, walk with me she said, you no longer have to fake it.

She was there

When I decided to no longer dwell in the dark bunkers of existence, no longer denying the truth with resistance

She was there

When my wrist began to bleed and my soul poured out of me with undying need

She was there

Laying in the hospital bed beside me praying to God that someone will be sent to guide me.

She was there

The day I gave up trying and walked in the light despite the darkness that resided in me.

She was there

When I confessed my unspoken sin

She was there

When I was accepted for me even when the world disagreed

She was me…
