Cain

Genesis 4:6-7  New English Translation

Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry, and why is your expression downcast? 7 Is it not true that if you do what is right, you will be fine? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at the door. It desires to dominate you, but you must subdue it.”

Cain

My flesh will scheme and decide to do much good

To receive the favor of the Lord

It will seldom stop in effort and commitment

To fill itself with glory to be recognized by God.

Cain is a good example. He gave the best he had

He wanted to trade his righteousness for the Holiness of God

In the blood of Abel that was spilled by Cain’s transgression

and so he gave the world a signal of our depravity’s lot
