Before Cages

Location

Looking out to the crowds
Rainbow pins, chicano fists, and beaded crosses
All colors to be seen and all faces, eyes, to be felt
Told since birth that we are the same
Learning later, none are like the otither..
Them is the people who don't know
and We is the people who know it all
If we were,
Born of the same mother
Born with the same stuff
Born with the same feels
Born in the same land of which came into existance with no brick walls-
Then why I ask, can't we change back to the time before we ourselves put up these walls, constructed these fences, or dug these moats.
Before we caged our brothers and sisters,
Next to our own,
And Forgot about the key
