Caged Phoenix

A caged bird with broken wings too sad to fly.

Colors stripped away, embrace lost by time.

Passion fading away, stuck between these

jail-like bars. Cut off these wings, and my soul.

Without these wings in which to fly, my soul

has flown… goodbye. I wish I: a Phoenix

Reborn from my sinful ashes. Wings… Fly…

But I’m a caged bird too broken to rise.
