Caged inside?

The air is stuffy,
time slipping,
thoughts suffocating.
Where are you?
You promised,
did you mean what you said?
Am I caged in?
I can't see,
the truth behind me.
You lied,
and I didn't realize it.
Am I caged in?
Did they know?
The ones you wanted to be,
I saw all the signs.
But now we are both slipping,
through that of which you didn't understand.
I start to understand this now.
Am I caged in?
I can't hear,
the voice that soothes me.
But I hear a faint noise,
one that I once knew.
Am I caged in?
You need that answer more than me.
I'll tell.
Am I caged in?
Yes.
Are you caged in?
Only you can tell.
Are they caged in?
Maybe.
Are we both caged in?
