Cage of my Life
My eyes,
My eyes have seen horrible things.
Like the bars that surround our lives.
My ears,
My ears have heard the most gruesome sounds.
Sounds of ignored agony,
heard too clearly from the people closest to me.
Silent cries.
My nose,
My nose has smelled the smell of a dusty cell,
The cell that we lock ourselves in.
My tongue,
My tongue tastes metallic,
Like the iron from drawn blood.
The blood of the ones who asked for escape.
My body,
My body feels smothered.
Oppressed,
Roughed,
Locked inside,
This cage.
This cage of my life.
This poem is about:
Our world
