Butterfly's Destruction

These butterflies that flutter inside of me

A feeling that leads me to despair.

Countless days of night,

I can’t imagine this feeling of love

--so full of destruction.

If I can bound your wings

I know I won’t feel like this,

But this feeling I hate, is the love I feel.

Butterfly, you fly without constraint

And forget a fool like me can’t do the same.

So many lives you’ve patched,

So many lives you’ll ruin--

You’re the beast that flies

Leaving a trail of blooms and tears.

You smile upon two fated hearts

But leave such frowns

To poor lovers of those chosen hearts

This game of love you choose

Is the battle many have been pushed

A victor will be crowned the life of bliss

And survivors will be marked with scars so deep

These butterflies that flutter inside of me

Will leave even a nation into despair
