Come closer; you can feel the currents they create.

She cannot smile,

But she is.

The hollow cheeks that sink into her puckered skin.

No one knows her suffering.

No one knows her pain.

Embers, bright steaming, glowing, forever etched into her eyes.

And yet fires can be extinguished.

That smile of hers is immortal.
