I don’t think they understand

What it was, how it began and its unfortunate end

I know he doesn’t understand

The denied love, the secret romance, but we had our chance

Five years of open access, endless backtracks, promises without facts

All wrapped up in a love that would never last, but that was the past.

The distance was not to blame, it was two hearts that were not the same,

Two souls in different frames, one in love and one playing the game.

It wasn’t until I woke up and realized I had changed

I no longer wanted the lovers name, I wanted to be seen.
