Broken

Overwhelmed by power great

He bowed beneath pressure and his will was bent

At last his spirit broke

Then in darkness he did dwell

Among the creatures of the night

Ghost once white became opaque as the shadow on the moon

Light now too bright he turns away

His back to his memories and heart tinted black

He faces fate with no illumination

Embraced by shadow in his lonely state

glimpses of eternal fire flicker in his eyes

As windows to his soul they reflect

the doomed destiny of such as he

Only his shadow remains
