Broken

Location

Br-

Brea-

Break-

Breaking

Clouds in the sky

Grey before dusk

The sun never shines

The dark never sets

The world’s not breaking

You are

It’s empty As far as you can see

There is nothing out there

But shredded glass

The lenses aren’t breaking

You are

Dead and drooping

Lifeless and colorless

A painful brown is crackling T

he flowers petals have fallen

They aren’t breaking

You are

The Earth is crumbling

More like rumbling

But nothing moves an inch

Yet everything still falls apart

The planet isn’t breaking

You are

The light flickers

Then simply goes out

It is dark and cold

Blurred by little puffs of white smoke

Light isn’t breaking

You are

Crystal clear they all tell you

If only you could see

The water has flooded

The dam is corroded

The basin is not breaking

You are

Seeing things go awry

And imagery be shattered

Is anything but easy

It’s an excuse to not go on

Yet if you give yourself the chance

To make amends

You may just be

Gr-

Grow-

Growing

Into the person you hope to one day be

Full of life Laughter

Happiness

And most of all

The chance to overcome them all

To go on

To succeed

And achieve

The impossible

The unthinkable

The unmistakable

And the true miracles.
