Broke

He broke my heart
Like noticing the way your first love looked at you
Looks at another
That you'll never be the same for each other
He broke my heart
That felt like ripping fresh applied wax off a hairy leg
He broke my heart
That felt like taking your next breath and inside feeling dead
He broke my heart
The way you break your favorite vase
And try to piece it back together but there will always be the missing pieces that chipped away
He broke my heart
Like a last breath with no goodbyes
He broke my heart
Like muffled cries and empty dried red eyes
He broke my heart
Like Christmas with no home
He broke my heart
Like mistaking lonely and alone
Like calling depression sad
Like smiling away your tears
And love over powered by fear
You broke my heart
Like dying with a unfulfilled dream
You broke my heart
And you didn't even see it
You broke my heart
And walked away in the wake of my undoing
How could you not noticed?
That you broke my heart
