Brave Soldier

As he laid against the cold floor ground,
He prayed and prayed that he would not be found.
Hearing the dreadful sound of his friends dying,
He suddenlt felt his anger rising.

The brave soldier longed to see his daughter's face,
but he kept up his fast pace.
Running toward his enemy,
He just wanted to help set his country free.

Gathering the strength to stand up tall,
He pulled the trigger and saw the man fall.
Now that they won and the war at its end,
He could head home and see his great friend.

Arriving at last, his daughter ran up and gave him a hug,
So he held her very tight and snug.
But the brave soldier home at last,
Knew his time would go by fast.
