Brave
Location
In the rolling hills of Scotland
As my momma told it to me
A brave bough rest far atop
My twining family tree
From this glistening red and gold bough
A great man was born in Ayr
He was from a stong family
And mother Scotland was his sire
He had to grow strong and ready
For his country was being oppressed
The English were hurting his people
And they would not by addressed
And now he was ready to stand
So he took the vow at Scone
And Scotland had a new leader
As King Robert the Bruce took his throne
With William Wallace he picked his side
And a great battle there was to be fought
As he marched with his men to war
A greater lesson there was to be taught
They clashed with Edward the Second
In an attempt to gain back their land
But the odds were opposed three-to-one
Robert's army was severely outmanned
So they pulled back to recover
They needed to make a plan
And at a strategic endeavor
Few were as good as this man
But even King Robert was at a loss
So to a spider his eyes were drawn
Whose web had been wrecked by wind
But whose perseverence was not gone
At last the Bruce was inspired
They faced Edward right then
All that the Scottish had needed
Was just to try, try again
