A boy's anguish

There's a sound
A window breaks
An angry husband
And one to deface

The woman wakes
The child asleep
The man creeps
One protects
The other of evil intent

The gavel is in his hand
Passing down the sentence in his land
The child cold with terror
A woman frozen in fear
The man's senses heightened for a kill

The beast rises for the occasion
The mouse trembles in fear
Another sound...

The child wakes and cries
For someone to come
He dare not leave
For this the end

The noises subside
And darkness appears
The child alone knows
He alone dares

The child orphaned
Has seen the unseen

The blood of his mother
Drives the Styx oar
And the blood of his father
is on board
The two mix into a stench
More vulgar than separate
The boy's blood still warm in his veins
Wraps around his mother
Trying to wake the dead

The more he cries
The more he prays
That those seconds be not in vain
