To The Boy Who Is A Poet

To the boy who is a poet

(1000 miles away)

To the boy who is a poet:

To the boy who is a poet,

Because your words are poetry.

Your words are poetry,

Because they evoke emotion, they hold depth and meaning.

They hold depth and meaning, they evoke emotion,

Because those words give me

a reason to smile,

a reason to laugh,

a reason to live,

a reason to not cry.

Those words give me those reasons,

Because even though you’re 1000 miles away and those words are written on a digital page…

But anyways....

To the boy who is a poet:

To the boy who is a poet,

Because of the Shakespeare you recite (or copy and paste) to me,

has a twist that is uniquely yours.

It has a twist that is uniquely yours,

Because when you say it, it means more than what Shakespeare has to say.

It means more when you say it,

Because, well, when you say it

my heart races,

I blush and smile,

it brings out the cheesy romantic in me.

Because you’re amazing,

Because you’re kind and patient, a gentleman, an incredible friend.

Because you’re a poet and your words have meaning.

Because even though you’re 1000 miles away and those words are written on a digital page…

They still mean so much.

And with those words, I’ve fallen…

Fallen in love with the boy who is a poet.

So this Valentine’s Day,

Will you be my poet?
