The Boy Not Chosen (Imitation, with apologies to Robert Frost)

Location

Two boys torn between a girl and friendship,

And it’s too bad that she couldn’t choose both

And there’s one boy, tall and handsome

And looked like the man of her dreams

To what the girl could see from a distance.

Then the other, just as tall,

And having perhaps not such good looks,

Because his face resembled that of an English Bulldog;

Though there was a hint of cuteness there that

Had intrigued the girl just the tiniest bit.

And both these boys so eager for her attention

In any shape or form they could get it.

Oh, how she had them wrapped around her finger!

Yet she knew there could be some hurt feelings,

She doubted that either of them was truly worth her time.

She gave a hint of this with a single sigh

Somewhere deep down she knew one had potential:

Two boys torn between a girl and friendship, and she-

She chose the face of the English Bulldog

And that goes to show that looks aren’t everything.
