Box of Chocolates

"Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."

Like an confusing intricate puzzle, you don't quite know where your piece will fit

Yes I recall way back when

I lost something that I held dear

Seems so distance now but why

It happened no longer than that a year

Life is like a box of chocolates

My chocolate began to melt before my very eyes

As I realized my friend had become my foe

My emotions stilled and heart turned cold

I could take care of myself I'd say

I know that god will guide me through

Life is like a box of chocolates

If you're not careful someone will go grabbing for more

but my chocolate is my chocolate

I worked hard in a way you never have before

Life is like a box of chocolates

And real eyes realize real lies

My box of chocolates isn't as lavish as others

But to bloom a flower takes time

Life is like a box of chocolates

and I'm not ashamed when I say

That although my chocolates are dim and dark

I still thank god everyday
