Bonfire

Thu, 08/04/2016 - 15:18 -- Ty47

Dark skies
Beautiful stars light up the night
The air is crisp
But I don't mind
So very ironic
Tonight it's time
I've got my match ready
With one toss flames ignite
I silently watch
The fire dancing in my eyes
Careful!
Not to get too close
It'll burn if you touch
If only this warning was as clear for us
I have a box of things you've given me
And one by one
Into the flames they go
Disintegrating before me
A reflection of the past
Crumbling to nothing more than ash
Unlike a Phoenix we unable to rise
But just like our love
In this bonfire we die
Somehow, it is not as satisfying as i hoped it would be
Oh, if only I could burn my memories
