Blurred Lines

Where is the line when a little boy goes to the store for pop and candy and gets attacked and shot down and his killer says
“it was only self defense”?
Where is the line when I lay on my bed afraid, frightened of the monsters not under my bed but the ones that lie in wake outside waiting to take my innocence away?
Where is the line when a baby can not be found but we all know that things like that are never an accident?
Where is the line that we should never cross?
You see we live in a world of denial... An all I can see now is that gray area there is no light in the darkness and as I scream for mercy on this world, I pray for my soul, that essence that is my fire within the darkness, that feeling of wholeness that keeps me running through the barriers presented before me,
but where is the line.....
You see we live in a world full of denial....

I definitely, sadly, have to agree with you- we do live a of denial. I believe the strongest part about this piece- thougn it is not it's only strong suit- is that you are able to step past these "blurred lines" and express that issues, bring to light the things that you see that no one else admits to. And that is, in fact, the strongest beginning and I hope you continue on that path of speaking these truths. Thank you so much for sharing.
