Blue Sky (Life Was Perfect)

Location

I remember a time, before I was grown,

before I became old...

A time I where i didnt know the difference between right or wrong.

Probably the age of 4, when I lived in my old home.

(when my house was a home)

I used to beg my mama dukes to take a trip to the park,

she would agree, but only if we agreed to leave after dark.

We would go across the street to a park known as Lincoln Terrace.

Careless, running in the summer breeze, when we wasn't filled with worries and we were naiive

we would play, dirty our clothes, then mama would buy us ICES.

Then, we would  relax until the sun set, the sky would transition to a darker blue.

And right then I knew... Life was perfect.

So I thought.

That was a while ago, and I dont have the same smile no mo'

the worries that I never knew existed, are now the only things I know I know of

problems rest on my shoulders.

If only, I still had the good times next to me,

If only my house was more than a bed to me.

Life would be perfect...

I hope my life has more good times left,

cause I miss those times back then...

now I just wish for those blue skies again
