A Bloom for You

A bloom for you

by Vir Singh

The spring is at its climax

Birds are singing with the music of winds

Celebrating the spring season.

Fresh snows of the Himalayas are melting,

Rivers and springs have swelled.

They’re set to quench the thirst

Of land and people far away –

In the Indo-Gangetic plains.

Oaks are laden with silvery leaves

Rhododendrons are wearing blood-red flowers

Pines are shedding their needles

And wearing new ones

Tufts of pine needles

Look like a pigtail of an African girl

Wild rose, creeping over trees in the forest,

Have sprouted into creamy flowers

As if galaxy of innumerable stars

Comes down to the wavy mountains!

I’m walking

Amidst the bounty of beauty.

This bloom of nature

Is dedicated to you.

Instilling your fragrance within

Conjuring your splendor,

The nature has burst into bloom.

This bloom is nature’s smile for you.
