Blood on Our Flag (Badges and Bloodlines)

Blood on Our Flag (Badges and Bloodlines)

The American flag is stained with the blood of black men.
Unknown African bloodlines flow into sewer drains.
Much like the streams next to the trees where our ancestors were hung.
In America, black blood flows in unnaturally straight lines.
Bloodlines turn into blood lines; lines of blood like red stripes staining that
blue and white. Or is it white and blue staining those red stripes?
Because I see badges on blue uniforms splattering red paint on to smooth
tar canvases as if they were abstract artists.
History says my ancestors saw unprovoked, vengeful spirits in white hoods
take part in similar activities.

Red, White, and Blue.
The colors of the American flag.
Home of the free, land of the brave.
America the great.

Those stars and stripes should be called death stars and bloodlines.

Red, White, and Blue.
The colors of the American flag.
Blood in city streets, graveyard of the slave.
America the great.
