Bless Me Father For I Have Sinned

The crippled words refuse to move

My voice struggles but nothing comes to prove

Armor on heart

Lost speech flutters and drifts apart

Don't be afraid, no time to dwell

A permanent disposition

Hate and opposition

Sulking soldiers

Don't ask don't tell

Two women, two men

Hand in hand

To foreheads come the sizzling brand

"Abomination"

I thought we said no discrimination

Into the confessional

Words pour like ink on paper

Trite pleads of absolve

Unprofessional

Church doors slammed

Are we damned?

Bible shuts

Father stands

We can never enter

The promised land
