The Black Knight

The thing black as night,
Instilling horrid fright,
Making light grow dim,
Creates hellish thoughts of sin.

Many flee and pray,
Not a-one dares stay,
Where this beast is found
For we wish not to be drowned.

Within this sea of desperate pleas,
We find ourselves on bended knees.
Can neither man nor angel fight,
With such a dreadful horrid knight?

With black skin and smoky wisps
Jagged teeth in a grim smile,
A smell so profane,
To drive any man insane.
Yet we can't fight all the while,
Even thru the damage and the hits.

We do not truly see,
That to kill this beast.
We simply need to smile,
Make someone's stay worthwhile.

Yet we don’t attempt to,

Even though you know what you have to do.

You know that sometimes it’s just a talk

But yet, you can’t find it to take that walk

To attempt to help find their way

To help them stay, just one more day

For everyone I swear out there is light

You just have to survive your current blight.
