BLACK BOY

Bursting through the doorBigger than lifeBreath, a strong windHeart beats like a drum strikesSaying, “Pay me your mind,I’m thunderous cannonI’m a bolt of lightningI’m the motherland draped Over your bleeding heartI’m the paint on the canvasOf your seedy artWalking, talking, bold and emblazonedYou will see me wherever I resideDon’t worry, don't fretI, Black boy, Wouldn’t hurt a fly."
