You are the janitor in the arcade, and yousee it when you flip the switch, just before you close the door, hearing it. It is the scuff of your shoe against the sidewalk as you hurry from it. It is the slow thought that is always behind you. You pick it out from under you fingernails as you speak. They see it in the pressed line of your lips when you don't.
