Beyond an Exam Paper
The classroom can go beyond its subject.
The priciples of science, formulas of math, didactic works of english and classic notes of music, mean very little without the influence of a teacher.
An advisor, who forms an inevitable bond with the minds they seek to enlighten.
A room thick with trust begets comfort and insight.
Anecdotes illustrate years of understanding and experience,
knowledge that cannot be attained by academics alone.
Yet, there is a force that may ruin this connection.
Excessive assesment of a given topic does not represent intelligence.
A student's need to repeadetly prove their education creates naught but stress.
The need for an educator to teach solely for passing marks does not instill intellect.
As the inquisition mounts, the true development and wisdom of the pupil is lost.
Without a seriuos decrease in the testing craze, our next generation may suffer the loss of the invaluable process of
listening, learning and, most of all,
understanding.
