Beyond Dreams

Beyond a dream

on a stage

it isn't about me

it isn't about fans, fame, fortune or other words thrown around by those who have too much and give nothing

I have learned different from the leers and jeers and ever-present eyes half shut from everclear

I want to tell the world that they deserve more

I never pretended to be a poet or a martyr

I want girls and boys, minorities and majorities and those who subscribe to the pejorative

listen to me

let me become your anthem

live through me until you can learn to live through yourself

misandry and misogyny

ignore the hate

let yourself be

listen to my song

this is my dream but it isn't meant for me

it's meant for you to find your own
