What our culture does not seem to understand is that we are all

Beautiful

In our own way

There is not a single definition to what beauty actually is

To me, I am beautiful

It took me a long time to accept myself the way I am

It took me a long time to accept that the scar across my stomach made me unique (the scar was from surgery)

It has taken me a while to realize that beauty truly is not on the outside, for what would we be without

Dreams

Aspirations

Goals

What would we be without individuality?

Empty

Lifeless

Drones

Beauty is not all visual

Beauty is

The sound of a song, so beautiful that it sends a rush through your body

Beauty is

The smell of a home cooked meal after a stressful day

Beauty is

Showing someone you care when they think they have no one

Beauty is

Being able to see the beauty in everything, because it is different

It took me awhile to see, not only the beauty in myself but the beauty in all things too

So if anyone tries to judge you for seeing the beauty in yourself

Ask them where their beauty lies
