Behind the Scenes: The Reason I Write

This is simply another version of "The Reason She Writes"

A simple question: why?

But somehow I am unable to find words

I search for them but I can not voice them aloud

And within this thought I know why

Writing is my outlet;

My voice unspoken

It’s the emotions I hold back

It’s the thoughts never said

Its my whole self

Without it I would be lost;

Unable to process the things I can't understand

It is when I write that I become enlightened - inspired

It helps me in so many ways;

When my mind cannot grasp the immensity of life

I write and by the end everything becomes clear

And the fear I once knew vanishes and never again appears

The astounding thing about writing is how it betters us;

I could begin nowhere significant

But end up somewhere grand

It was not always this way

I had no particular interest in the art of writing

However a day came that brought me great confliction

This day resembled the classic fork in the road;

I was faced with decisions

And nowhere to turn

So I turned to myself

I picked up a pencil and paper

And as my thoughts spilled unto the pages I felt a sense of relief

This spark was ignited suddenly;

I felt as if all my problems could be worked out by writing

And so I continued and never stopped

Whether I be happy, sad, or angry

In my writing there are no bounds -

No barriers to constrict me

The reason I write is simple -

Writing helps me overcome life's adversity.
