Behind My Curtain There is a Human

Curtain’s drawn, black silk and tassels,

Hiding true form from real world hassles.

Why show your face when they’ll only scold;

They’ll curse you out and call you “bold.”

And it’s not fair to you or I,

That because of hate we have to hide.

Because it seems we’re told by God

To make good of a thick facade.

.

I’m  not silver like I show.

My true colors are red and gold.

Through my veins there is a liquid,

And when I’m scared, its flow sure quickens.

My heart pumps blood through all my veins.

I love hearing the thunder and rain.

I love climbing up public park trees.

And it's the  little things that make up ‘me’.
