Behind Closed Doors

I am a dog as sweet as can be,

But I live in a place where no one loves me.

I cannot comprehend why they yell so angrily,

Or why they always beat me so savagely.

As i lie alone in my cage, after my beating,

I wonder what makes me so unpleasing.

When they come to get me out, I greet them happily,

But i only recieve a reply of apathy.

The outside sees this home as comforting,

But behind these closed doors, no one can see my suffering.
