In the Beginning and Now

 

It’s days like today,

I wish you weren’t so far away,

I just wanted to say,

that I love you,

We’ll see each other again someday.

 

In the beginning,

I couldn’t see,

How you’d come to mean so much to me,

But you helped me see that life’s worth living.

 

You held my hand when times were hard,

You held me close when I was sad,

I wish that life had delt us different cards,

Because it now seems like you were all I had.

 

In the beginning life was so sweet,

Before you, I was care free,

But when God decided that we should meet,

It could only sweeter be.

 

Now a piece of me is gone,

You took it when you left,

I know that I shouldn’t hold on,

But our end is the only thing I regret.
