Like a Beetle to a Light Bulb

Location

Today my light bulb blew.

I went to change it and touched the hot glass,
My fingers singed and turned a slight brown,
But the ladybugs crawled along so easily.
As I unscrewed the lighting more insects came.

And i grew disgusted with the small creatures.
How can they live in a place I could not touch?
When all was done iIflicked the lightswitch on,

And reapplied the glass frame.

I saw the countless dead bugs laying inside,
Overlooked in the darkness before the light.

Instead of dumping the shells out
I left them.
