Because You Are My Love

You know the things that have burdened me.

Like names carved in to a tree.

I was held so tight I could barely breathe.

In that last relationship I couldn’t leave.

But with you I have finally found a home.

No leash on me and I could finally roam.

In your arms I don’t feel like I’m powerless.

Not thinking my destiny lies in the press.

Because you are my love and things aren’t heavy.

Taking Sunday rides in your blue Chevy.

Not a scar to see and no more found.

Not feeling like I was being drowned.
Because you are my love and my security is you.

And no me, is no you and that’s true.
