Because I Love You
Because I Love You
Rebecca Fratangelo
Because I love you, we talk about the good,
And the bad.
Because I love you, I respect you,
And myself.
Because I love you, we spend time together,
And apart.
Maybe not a lot,
but all of it precious.
Because I love you, I appreciate you,
And you me.
Because I love you, I don't get caught up in the bad,
I reminisce on the good.
Because I love you, we argue,
Not fight.
Because I love you, I don't compare myself to others,
Or you to them.
Because I love you, I make time to make you laugh,
And you make me grin.
Because I love you, I support you,
And you support me.
Because, I love you.
One definition of a healthy relationship is when two people develop a connection based on mutual respect, trust, and honesty, but it is that and so much more. A healthy relationship is one where both parties feel safe, comfortable, and respected. A healthy relationship is when they can trust one another and not take advantage of each other. A healthy relationship is when you laugh, cry, and smile together. It also is full of support, equality, separate identities, good communication, and a sense of playfulness.
