The battle has been long;

There are many who are still strong

Fighting each and every day

To keep the cancer at bay.

Many have passed on

Though never far gone

From our troubled hearts

For there they are never far apart

Their strength that they left

Will always be kept

As close as can be

So that we may always see

The hope that still resides

The courage that is inside

Every survivor

and every fighter

Though the battle rages on

Our faith is far from gone

For each and every day

Many come out to say

“I have finally won

Cancer’s days are done.”
