Doting emotions through his golden eyes.
Broken silence between their ruby lips.
Shattered hopes brought forth by villainous lies.
Society hurt them like thorny whips.

Decorum that they were bound to follow.
Split their always strong and united souls.
The depths of their hearts were bare and shallow.
Happiness had once been part of their goals.

The solitude in which we now combine,
Gives life to the sadness in our tired minds.
The smile on his face lacked its bright sunshine,
With which the compromise of love was signed.

A lonely affection will be my own,
When I see that I am truly alone.
